Christmas City Cat Club is a chartered club of
The International Cat Association (TICA), the world’s largest genetic registry of pedigree cats.
Christmas City Cat Club has been hosting their annual show in the Lehigh Valley area since 1986.
In 1985, a few local cat breeders talked about having a cat club in the Lehigh Valley
area everytime they met at local cat shows. No plans were really in place as to which
association we would align with, since some of us showed CFA, ACFA and TICA.
I was at my 1st (and last) ACFA show and was approached by a spectator, Marilyne Coleman
about how nice my kitten was. In talking, she said she was a judge in another association (TICA)
and I talked to her about how a person could start a cat club. With alot of help and guidance
from her and Mark, the deal was sealed. Our new club would be associated with TICA, was formed
in 1985 and would be called Christmas City Cat Club. Our members were Bob Beeton, Sirji Kuhl,
Maxine Kovacs, Janet Benkovic and myself, Mary Lynn Krause. The Colemans helped us get rosettes,
do any paperwork we needed to do, donated all their time in judging and we had our first
Household pet show, February 16,1986. Our first championship show, in conjunction with the
Coal Crackers Cat Club, was held March 29 and 30, 1986. We have been doing shows ever since.
Thank you exhibitors for the past 25 wonderful years!
